In 2006 I returned to the United States to work for Crystal Dynamics in California who were known for the Tomb Raider franchise.
I was hired to build and lead a team of designers to work on an original title in an open world setting. The project was turning out to be quite fun but unfortunately the studio went through some restructuring shortly after we completed our vertical slice and the project was shelved.
I began work on the reboot for Tomb Raider, which was in the early idea phase, as the lead exterior mission designer. The game was initially planned to be open world, allowing players to discover tombs, and unravel the mysteries of the island where they shipwrecked.
I lead the team building the island and creating all missions that took place in the open world. I worked side by side with the creative director and other leads to build out the story, game systems and missions.
