In 2017 I joined the Halo Infinite team excited to work on the latest installment of this beloved franchise.
The Sandbox team is responsible for creating all weapons, vehicles, abilities and Master Chief himself. I was hired to lead this team, expand gameplay possibilities, appeal to a wider audience and bring innovation that supports the open nature of the world.
I achieved this by creating the idea of multiple equipment items that could expand player opportunities over time as well as provide a foundation for future expansion. I introduced the idea of damage types to give weapons a stronger identity, added ammo pickups to allow players to hold on to their favorite weapons for longer.
I created a progression system that was based around opportunity rather than a simple power curve.
After a little over a year as Sandbox Lead I was promoted to Gameplay Director responsible for the entire Campaign gameplay experience including Sandbox, Characters and Missions.
